Allow us to walk you through the process and what you can expect from your appointments. From the consult to the post treatment care, we will be here to make sure we can answer all your questions, and take you from the drawing board to the custom creation of your brand new replacement tooth/teeth.
Your first visit will be a consultation. During this appointment the dentist will assess the suitability of your case for a Root Canal Treatment. The dentist will discuss the risks, outcomes and even discuss other options that may also be suitable.
The dentist will provide you with some reading material and also discuss your treatment plan if deemed that you are suitable for an Root Canal Treatment.
During this visit, the dentist will locate and clean out the canals within the roots. In some cases local anaesthetic may be required. With the use of our high quality technology combined with skill of our expert dentists, this procedure is usually pain-free.
A radiograph may be required at this stage. Your dentist will insert medication into the canals to treat infection and conclude the visit by selecting a case based temporary restoration that will remain in the tooth until the next visit. You can expect to pay from $318.
After one week, you will have your next appointment. The third visit is when your dentist will begin cleaning the canals and ensuring no infection or pulp remains in the canal/s. The visit will take about an hour. Your doctor will usually take 2-3 radiographs of the tooth through the appointment so you will get to see their progress!
This visit is charged from $413 depending on the case. In few cases, this step may require one or two repeats.
This visit is probably the most important step. Approximately 1-2 weeks later, your dentist will confirm they are happy with the way the canals appear from a combination of both radiographs and some clinical tests, before beginning to seal the canals. Sealing of the canals is important to prevent bacteria seeping into the tooth and further damaging the remaining natural tooth or becoming reinfected. This appointment usually takes approximately 30-60 minutes depending on the number of canals in that tooth. Fees are charged from $407 for this appointment.
After about 2 months, you will be due to return for your crown preparation appointment, This visit requires several impressions to be taken. A colour will be chosen for the crown based on its adjacent teeth. Once the Doctor is happy with the impressions, he/she will send it off for the crown to be created in a laboratory. The crown fee is roughly charged from $1300 depending on the case.
Indeed we have arrived! During this visit, the dentist will place the crown on the prepared tooth. This process involves permanently fixing the crown in the mouth. In some cases, the crown may need to be adjusted, moving the cementation date by approximately 2 weeks. Once the crown fits, your dentist will obtain your authority to proceed with the cementation.
And viola! You have a brand new, aesthetically natural, functional tooth.
