The Good Dentists Group

TOOTH REPLACEMENT OPTIONS:

Lets talk about doing nothing. There are various options available for tooth replacement including the option to do absolutely nothing.
Most of our teeth are functional teeth. This means that their presence, when aligned well, are required for optimal functionality and aesthetics, as well as good jaw and muscle health. A missing tooth can can cause headaches and pain in your Tempo-Mandibular Joint (jaw joint) and could affect your sleep. Just as you experience neck pain from sleeping crooked, your jaw muscles may experience pain from using the muscles incorrectly.
Apart from unique oral environments, we also have unique chewing pressures. When a back tooth is missing, the pressure on the adjacent teeth is increased. This can lead to fractures, chipping and other long term damage to your other healthy teeth.
Over time, drifting or over eruption of adjacent/opposing teeth may occur. Drifting teeth is when the neighbouring teeth drift or tilt into the gap which may cause discomfort, food impaction and the loss of the option to replace the tooth into the future. Over eruption occurs over time causing the opposite tooth to grow into the space caused by the missing tooth.
Our smile is the first thing people see and may affect our confidence. Get in to see your dentist if you have a missing tooth and avoid having to deal with unnecessary future complications.
We offer treatments such as partial and full dentures, ceramic bridges and implants. Assessment is simple and non-invasive and you can also discuss payment plans with one of our friendly healthcare professionals.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Tooth replacement is an important consideration. It can affect alignment, bone levels and oral health. Explore our pages on Tooth Replacement including Dentures, Bridges and Implants.

Visit 1:

Your first visit will be a consultation during which your dentist will discuss your oral health needs. During this appointment the dentist will assess the suitability of your case for tooth replacement and what might be most appropriate to your condition.

Visit 1A:

Tooth Replacement treatments do not change colour and as such, you may wish to get teeth whitening prior to commencing this treatment. Your new teeth will be colour matched to your adjacent teeth so choosing a colour is an important stage of the process. Teeth whitening involves 3 cycles of a reputable Australian Made Carbamide Peroxide gel to your teeth which is activated using a high intensity light. See more on Teeth Whitening here.

Visit 2:

Treatment planning is required to ensure that your tooth replacement treatment is done at the right stage of your oral health management plan. Upon agreement with your dentist, you can now begin your appointments as required by the chosen treatment option.

Visit 3:

A post treatment review will be done to ensure that the new tooth or teeth fit well and/or has healed well. Any adjustments or post operative treatment will be done at this stage. You can now go on and live life well, and with your shiny new tooth or teeth!

Payment Arrangements:

For ceramic restorations and any other dental treatment, we offer access to several payment plans. These plans are no-interest payment solutions, which will span over an extended period of time allowing you to pay fortnightly for your treatment. They have a $39 set up fee, and take minutes to get underway. If you have any questions or concerns, please call one of our friendly staff members on (03) 9729 0868.
